  • Grangetown boys and girls club - Sahara, Bailo, Trevae, Kairese & Cas
    Mar 6 2025

The main focus of Grangetown Boys & Girls Club is to maintain universal open access youth provision. Our mission is to give hope and opportunities to children and young people in South Cardiff, so they fulfil their potential and leave prepared and excited for adult life. The Boys & Girls Club team of youth professionals provides a safe, caring, youth-led space in a disadvantaged inner-city area, where young people can learn, develop and build towards a brighter future. Open-access after-school programmes take place in our two storey-built youth centre in Grangetown. Youth Club activities encompass sport, healthy cooking, music, art, skills development and career pathways. Delivered by our experienced team, the work is child-centred and promotes enjoyment, collaboration and individually tailored support towards personal development. Young people are encouraged to become volunteers, participate in social action, and to use their voices to share their ideas, opinions and needs, which in turn helps us shape the youth programmes.

  • Anisha & Kay - Founders of Silencieux
    Dec 9 2024

Anisha and Kay are the founders of Silencieux, a clothing brand, which produces hand made products. Some of their materials that they use are wash and wear -meaning no need to iron, which for students in Cardiff is ideal!

"The everyday people inspires us as we feel nowadays everybody is caught up in the rat race".

One of their success that they are proud of is that they managed to double each of their units from their first collection to get them here! They started at 50/60 units for a whole collection, second collection they were at 100/110 units & they are now in their first year and 4 months they have realised our third collection where their units are roughly around 200 units for a whole collection!

They are doing this without any help just attending pop ups & local university students/ people supporting them.

  • Navigating Social Media As a Young Person-Sundas Raza
    Dec 2 2024

This podcast is the 'Youth Matters podcast' hosted by Kimberly Jeffrey.

Sundas is a creative with a passion for innovation & storytelling. She is deeply committed to empowering underrepresented voices and creating inclusive spaces through her poetry, workshops and community driven projects. She is the founder of Girlz Clwb , an arts and crafts based initiative that provides judgement free spaces for girls to connect, create and unwind. With a background in law and a love for the arts, a lot of her work blends structure with creativity. It spans acting, spoken word poetry, and event curation, with a strong emphasis on creating experiences that inspire, uplift, and spark change.

One of her proudest moment is when I published my first poetry book 'Echoes Among Olive Branches' in January 2024.
"My mother is my biggest inspiration. Her hardworking nature and resilience always fuels me even when I struggle to find the motivation to go on. She has sacrificed so much and faced so much to give us better futures and I will forever be in awe of that."

"I think a big challenge young people face today is living up to an unrealistic standard and insecurity. The way you grow up shapes and influences the person you become so the more positive reinforcement within young people , the more positive the population would be. If I could change one thing about the world, I would make sure respect was the centrepiece of everything as I believe that’s the solution to many of todays problems"
