  • HTP #204 - David Orange
    Feb 19 2025
David Orange is fondly remembered as the sleepy (and likely inebriated) Klingon at the observation post in Star Trek VI. He joins Hungry Trilobyte to recall his time on the set, telling a funny story about Leonard Nimoy, and waxing philosophical on what makes great science fiction. David is an accomplished novelist and screenwriter, and the two of us also discuss two of his projects, one of which was inspired by his time on Star Trek, the other being a novel titled Below Level 7. He gives a very compelling taste by hinting at the story of alien abduction, Area 51, and Adrenochrome. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig

He and I are going to talk Trek, Ninja Turtles, as well as his early experiences as a fan reading about Superboy and the Legion. • HTP #201 - Jarrod Alberich is a Real American Hero
    Nov 30 2024
Back again, Jarrod Alberich gets the misfortune of walking me through the newbie stages of G.I. Joe fandom. We get into a brief overview of the franchise, some new developments, and get to dissect why we collect and what it satisfaction it brings us. The conversation was started after I found the G.I. Joe/Transformers collaboration featuring Kup and Sgt. Slaughter. There's also a moment where we talk about Jarrod's service in the real-world armed forces, and what it means when you can make your ambitions a reality. Jarrod was previously on Hungry Trilobyte in episodes 80, 113, and 153. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig

  • HTP #200 - Jerry Carita Returns!
    Nov 17 2024
Jerry Carita (last seen on Hungry Trilobyte in Episode #185) returns for our milestone 200th episode! Tonight, we’re talking about The CloakRoom, an anthology series born out of a writing course by Scott Snyder. There’s so much to cover here-- the value of anthology fiction (particularly anthology GENRE fiction), Scott’s work with the Batman universe, and the opportunities new writers can take to have their work seen. As a fun aside, Jerry and I wrap up with a granular look at how Superman works at a writer’s level, and he gives me a chance to brag on a great discussion I had with Billy Mays III in Episode 88! — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig

  • HTP #199 - Amelia Eichler Returns!
    Nov 3 2024
Amelia Eichler, previously seen on Episode 152, returns today to talk about her journey into cinema history and preservation. Specifically, she talks about her grandfather's love of movies and how he mindfully passed it on to her. She and I talk about how it helps to be guided by a mentor and how that can coincide with normal growth as a person, possibly making it easier. Amelia and I share a love of The Marx Brothers, which does call back to my talk with Frank Ferrante. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky, Twitter, or Instagram - @AaronBossig

  • HTP #198 - Philip Tarl Denson
    Oct 24 2024
Philip Tarl Denson is a man of many talents: writing, acting, directing and now comic creating! Here with a collection called Future Tales, Philip shows he's a big-time comic fan who's happy to have made something wonderful with the medium-- classic fairy tales re-told as contemporary science fiction. He and I talk about how this actually fits very well with the intent of the source material. Oct 16 2024
Steve Bynoe is a comic artist, writer, and publisher. His latest work is the Atrium miniseries, chronicling the chase of a team of paramedics trying to transport a human heart in a world infested with vampires. Atrium is currently raising money on Kickstarter. Steve and I together discuss creating Atrium, as well as take a detour into how comic fandom has morphed throughout history. This episode features an invitation to participate in Trek Rough Cuts, an online telethon to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
