"Humans are still cheaper than robots" - Interview with Mostafa Henaway

Après le printemps talks with community organiser and researcher Mostafa Henaway. Head of the Immigrant Workers Centre and author of the book Essential Work, Disposable Workers, published in 2023, the interview discusses the role played by migrant workers during the Covid-19 pandemic, the transformations of capitalism on a global scale and the impact on migrant or ‘temporary’ workers. Henaway also works on the reality of warehouse workers, such as those at Amazon and other e-commerce platforms, which is also discussed in the interview. All these discussions revolve around one main question: what place can and should class and race have in our understanding of the exploitation of workers today?
