Aldama currently chairs the Glendale Audit Committee. And he is a member of the Citizen Police Academy Alumni of Glendale
He is a graduate of Glendale University - City Government, a graduate of the Hispanic Leadership West Institute, and past board member of the Glendale Elementary School District Governing Board and the National League of Cities – Community and Economic Development Committee.
Councilmember Aldama is currently a member of Hispanic Elected Local Officials (HELO), and the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO). He was also recently re-appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2023 Public Safety and Crime Prevention (PSCP) Federal Advocacy Committee and serves on the West Valley Foundation Board of Directors. Councilmember Aldama is also a member of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce and the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
As the representative of the Ocotillo District, Councilmember Aldama represents a number of small business owners including the internationally known Cerreta Candy Company. Sands Chevrolet, Don Sanderson Ford and Historic Catlin Court also called the Ocotillo District home.
Councilmember Aldama is committed to representing the Ocotillo District by actively engaging members of the community. He works tirelessly to develop partnerships that benefit the Ocotillo District and Glendale. In 2022, Vice Mayor Jamie Aldama was awarded the Outstanding Public Official by the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association Award for his various contributions to Glendale.
Councilmember Aldama has deep roots in the community he serves. He is a lifelong, 4th Generation, resident (54 years) of Glendale, growing up and having lived in the Ocotillo District for most of his life. He and his wife Monica have been married for over 35 years, have three grown children and seven grandchildren.
