In this episode, I shared my background of being raised as a Southern Baptist Christian and how religion created an environment of all-or-nothing thinking.
I felt like I was always being measured to be either perfect or not good enough, and that created the foundation for how I spoke to myself later in life.
I explored how all-or-nothing thinking, perfectionism, internalized shame, and low self-worth all tie together to create the perfect storm. Many of us no longer identify with the religion or strict beliefs we were brought up with, but we have an entirely new beast that keeps us trapped in this same loop: social media.
