  • The Artist’s Way Week 12: Recovering a Sense of Faith & Our Final Episode
    Nov 21 2024

Steph & Allison have reached the final week of The Artist's Way - what a journey it has been! This week brings us the trust we have developed over the course of the program to set our creative aims and commit to the tools we have learned. Trust, mystery, imagination at play, and the concept of "escape velocity" are the themes that close out week 12. A reminder that creativity requires faith and trust in ourselves, that creativity begins in darkness, that we were created to make art, and to set our sights and not let doubts stop us.

But first - the Olympics, what is missing? And, Allison is experiencing a love/hate relationship with this time of year. Steph is loving one of her morning rituals a little extra this week, and hating the disconnect from ourselves that we as a society have created.

In closing out The Artist's Way, we have also decided it is time to close out the podcast. The purpose of this podcast was to help us navigate our way back to our creativity - and it did just that. We have discovered creative paths we want to take and setting down the mics will allow us the time to focus on these new pursuits. This has been such a fun and meaningful outlet for us and we are so grateful for how far we've come. Thank you for listening and coming along for the ride.

  • The Artist’s Way Week 11: Recovering a Sense of Autonomy
    Nov 14 2024

Steph & Allison get into week 11 of The Artist's Way - hard to believe we are already approaching the end! This week brings us a discussion around our artistic autonomy - the ways in which we nurture and accept ourselves as artists. Redefining success for ourselves, getting into our bodies, and creating space that reinforces artistic growth - these are the key themes for this week.

But first, the future - do we want to know about it? And, as a continuation from last episode, more political rage!! The girls are hating the news around the election and take a moment or two to go off a little bit. Allison is not losing hope and Steph is keeping her underarms smooth - its the little things, right?

  • The Artist’s Way Week 10: Recovering a Sense of Self-Protection
    Nov 7 2024

Steph & Allison dive into week 10 of The Artist's Way discussing the ways we can be ambushed on our pursuit of creative recovery. The ways our artist stays blocked with creativity issues, addictions that stifle our progress, times of creative drought, and fame and competition that has us too concerned with the approval of others over approval of ourselves.

But first, where are we looking for reassurance from our future selves? And, Allison is soaking up the extra hour of sleep this weekend brought us, but before that things were rough. Steph finds joy in her lunch and once again stirs the home-decor pot with another design choice she hates. The girls go on a small political rant to get us started - fun!
