Each individual is personally accountable to God.

Sin always has consequences. “The soul that sinneth, it shall die”. This is fundamental to the Christian gospel.

This is the same as Paul’s declaration in Romans 6, “The wages of sin is death” (v23). This death is being outside of God's favour, under His wrath, a plight leading to an eternal condemnation, an eternal death. We have also been told that the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son.

So, no one can blame their family or their environment for their sin, but each one is personally responsible before the Lord for his own actions. All are personally responsible to repent.

Indeed, God commands all men everywhere to repent. Those who do repent must then pursue all holiness of life.

We are not just called to take salvation and then carry on living as we did before. That is to mock God.

The one who repents and believes in Christ receives new life in the power of the Holy Spirit. This enables him to start keeping the commandments of God with all of his heart.

We are saved in order to be holy.
