  • The Legend of Joan, Popess of Rome
    Apr 8 2025
Throughout the Middle Ages and the Reformation, a story was told of the first female Pope, who had hidden her sex and been elevated to the highest position within the Church by accident. The story of Pope Joan is a total myth, but even today it serves as a useful lesson to illustrate the historical roots of the sexism and misogyny that still keeps women out of leadership positions. In the face of trans erasure and genocide, this episode affirms the existence of transgender people throughout history, focusing on the trans empress of the Roman Empire, long misgendered and called Elagabalus, though that was not her name. Essential Understanding of Origins of USA

This is an extremely well developed understanding of White Supremacy in USA Origins and Andrew Jackson's use of racist theory to ground his Indian Removal Act of 1932. I do not understand why this Podcaster does not know the proper use of the word Myth. Myth should not be used to define a falsehood so hopefully he will apologize and resend his misleading use of the word MYTH or MYTHOS which are Ancestral Narratives of a People's Most Beloved Truths. So I want to rate this Podcast with the highest regard for his work I also need to "school' him on his misappropriation of the word :Myth which should be understood as highly valued Ancestral Advice. So with this said I want to say this is an extremely valuable podcast that teaches how Mormonism and White Supremacy go hand in hand with the genocide of Native American People.

More history please.

40% history, 25% personal bias, and 25% conspiracy theory, 10% politics. A historian should be as unbiased as possible. That's a hard thing to do apparently. But if you're in to politics and like conspiracy theory, you'll enjoy this podcast.
