High-Speed Chases and Suspected DUI Incidents in Omaha Under Investigation

During the past week in Omaha, several significant criminal incidents were reported. On Friday evening, April 25, troopers observed a vehicle, allegedly a Mazda CX9, traveling at over 100 miles per hour without headlights on Q Street near 156th Street in west Omaha. When a traffic stop was attempted, the driver, identified as a 16-year-old girl, fled from law enforcement. A pursuit ensued, ending with a crash as the vehicle returned to Q Street after turning into a neighborhood. The driver was apprehended at the scene. This case is under investigation.

On Wednesday evening, April 23, a Dodge Dakota was spotted by troopers failing to maintain its lane on northbound Highway 75 near the downtown area. The driver allegedly accelerated away from an attempted traffic stop, resulting in a pursuit with speeds reaching approximately 95 miles per hour. The chase lasted roughly two miles before the vehicle slowed and came to a stop. The driver was arrested for a fourth alleged DUI offense. No injuries were reported. The incident remains under review by authorities.
