  • Jeremiah 18:18-23 Colin Heinrich sings "Hear Me, Lord"
    Sep 5 2025

This episode deals with the all too familiar situation known as "No good deed goes unpunished". The prophet Jeremiah was faithful in delivering God's message of truth to His people, yet his earthly reward was hearing of his countrymen plotting to take his life! Jeremiah turned to God in despair and complained bitterly, to the point of asking for harsh judgement to come upon his enemies. Chad ruminates on this deeply emotional passage and offers compassionate words of hope for us all, based entirely upon the loving character of our God. Colin Heinrich sings a beautiful and peaceful lament entitled "Hear me, Lord".

    Lyrics to "Hear me, Lord"

    Sometimes pain

    Can strike like a rod

    And cleanse like a fire

    And turn me to God

    When revenge

    Is hurting myself

    It acts like a fever

    And breaks down my health

Waiting, trusting to rest in Your love

Waiting, trusting to rest in Your love

    Chorus:

    Hear me Lord

    I hear my enemies speak

    Hear me Lord

    For I am weak

    Hear me Lord

This cross is too heavy to bear

    Hear me Lord

    Receive my prayer

    They dig a pit

    With snares for my feet

    They plot out smy ruin

    Prepare my defeat

    Only You

    Hold my future secure

    I cannot change them

    Or fill them with fear

Waiting, trusting to rest in Your love

Waiting, trusting to rest in Your love

    Chorus:

    Hear me Lord

    I hear my enemies speak

    Hear me Lord

    For I am weak

    Hear me Lord

This cross is too heavy to bear

    Hear me Lord

    Receive my prayer

  • Jeremiah 17:14-17 Mikaela Adams sings "Christ Have Mercy"
    Aug 29 2025

We've all been wronged, sometimes by those closest to us, or those who we trust the most. So, how do we respond, especially when we know that we can't truthfully claim our own righteousness and demand God's wrath against those who have hurt us. Oftentimes we hold our feelings inside, keeping our thoughts to ourselves, which only makes things worse. In God's mercy, He has given us words to express in prayer, words found in Holy Scripture, that encapsulate our deepest pains and struggles. This passage from Jeremiah is another gem for the wounded. Chad meditates on this passage and points us to the great healing and redemption found in Christ alone. Mikaela Adams sings a beautiful lament entitled "Christ have mercy".

    Lyrics to "Christ Have Mercy"

    Heal me O Lord

    And I shall be healed

    Save me Lord

    And I shall be saved

    You are my praise

    You are my salvation

    You are my God

    I shall not be ashamed

    Chorus:

    On the last day

    Every knee will bow

    And every tongue confess

    That you are Lord

    Father forgive them

    The foolish and proud

When their vain laughter was heard

    And forgive me Lord

    Christ have mercy

    Lord have mercy

    “Where are you Lord?”

    Won’t you return

Like you said in your word

    Christ have mercy

    Don’t let me fall away

There’s nothing that You have not seen

There’s nothing that You have not heard

    Let me not hesitate

    To follow in your way

I And I will not desire

    That dark and woeful day

    Let my words and deeds

    Be gracious and thankful

    For you are my hope

    In the day of evil

    Lord have mercy

When those who say “Where are you Lord?”

    Won’t you return

Like you said in your word

    Lord have mercy

    Don’t let me fall away

Rich, because we can relate to the prophet's complaints, and also be encouraged that God gives us a script in His holy Word to speak to Him about the things that vex us. Chad shines a bright light on these words of Jeremiah, and meditates on God's responses. The talented Markita Knight sings "Always For Me".

    Song Lyrics:

    Jeremiah 15:10-21 Always For Me

    I never asked for this,

    Never asked to be born

In a world full of sin

    Of struggle and scorn

    I never asked for this….

    Oh Lord, You know

    I never asked to borrow

    A dollar from anyone

Yet I’m cursed like a debtor

Like I owe them the sun

    I never asked for this….

    Oh Lord, You know

    Chorus:

    I’m not alone

    When I cannot see

    In the valley of despair

    You are guiding me

    To hold onto You

    In You I am free

    Your divine love, O Jesus

    Is always for me

    is always for me

    Lord, You called me forth

    Before I was born

    You called me to be

    A wall in the storm

    In disaster and pain

    O Lord, you know

    Bridge:

You put your name in me

    For your purpose

You put your name in me

    By your grace

    I am not worthy

    To shine your light

    But my heart sings out

    You have given me sight

Lyrics to "I Want To Run With The Horses"

    Jeremiah 12:1-6

    The easy road

    The silver and gold

    And everything they gather

    Will be gone

    They speak Your name

    They play the game
But You are far from their heart

    They never draw near

In the blink of an eye

In the heat of the fire

They fall away from the light

    forever and ever

    (Chorus)

But I want to run with the horses

I want to run with the horses

    Carry me in Your hands

    It’s You, O Christ, I need

I am sGrasping on to nothing

    Only You, only You

    The land cries out

    We’re losing this race

    A desolation song

    From this barren place

But You will try my heart

By Your mercy, set me apart

And You will guide my feet

    To the glory that awaits

In the blink of an eye

In the heat of the fire

They fall away from the light

    forever and ever

    (Chorus)

But I want to run with the horses

I want to run with the horses

    Carry me in Your hands

    You, O Christ, I need

    Grasping on to nothing

  • Psalm 148 Izzi Ray sings "You Are The Only One"
    Jul 18 2025
This is what we are created for, to know God, praise Him and be with Him in His new creation forever. We are loved more than we realize, surrounded by grace, even in the midst of trials and hardships. God is with us forever. Chad unpacks this wonderful Psalm and renews us with words of truth and encouragement. Izzi Ray sings "You Are The Only One" Psalm 148 ESV Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts! Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord! For he commanded and they were created. And he established them forever and ever; he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.a]">[a] Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps, fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word! Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars! Beasts and all livestock, creeping things and flying birds! Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth! Young men and maidens together, old men and children! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above earth and heaven. He has raised up a horn for his people, praise for all his saints, for the people of Israel who are near to him. Praise the Lord!
