  • A Chainsaw, A Screwdriver, & A Cross | Paxton Wallace FULL STORY + Exclusive Interview
    Nov 18 2025
A 3:40 a.m. 911 call. A man waiting outside with a hammer in one hand and a cross in the other. Inside, a crime scene so brutal seasoned detectives called the victim “unrecognizable.” In this episode of Hidden True Crime, Lauren sits down with the family of 31-year-old Paxton April Wallace—a daughter, big sister, caretaker and dog mom whose life was stolen by the man they once welcomed into their home. We walk through the chilling police report, Jeffrey Rael’s “demon mode” claims, Paxton’s desperate attempts to escape escalating abuse, and the systemic failures that left her without safe options. This is the story behind the headline—a family’s grief, a community’s wake-up call, and why Paxton’s loved ones are begging you to listen. Nov 13 2025
“I don’t even know anything about this little boy…” That’s what Stacey Wondra told Dr. John in our January 2024 interview—now he and his then-wife, Sarah, are charged with first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping, and destruction of evidence in the disappearance of 5-year-old “Monkey” Vaughan. In this hard but essential episode, we walk through the newly released probable-cause affidavits, timeline, and key evidence—alongside excerpts from our interview—to reveal what investigators say happened the night Michael vanished. The problem of #toxicmasculinity needs to be addressed. During a livestream (podcast) discussing Depp v Heard, numerous times an abuse survivor would state that Heard's words and actions reminded her of her exboyfriend's or exhusband's abuse and tactics. These women clearly expressed that Amber Heard was the perpetrator of the abuse. Doc John dismissed these women. That is toxic. That mansplaining to victims that they were wrong. The point of the TrueCrime community is to crowdsource Justice and Truth. The distribution of abuse survivors in the TrueCrime community is certainly higher than that of the general population. You cannot dismiss the experience and perceptions of our community of survivors. Their truth is our greatest resource. No degree or clinical experience trumps that truth. Listen better. Be better. Less hubris. Less harm. #credibility

I gave them a 3 on performance because that’s what this podcast is, performative. It isn’t even good acting, but it is an act, at least the journalistic side of it is. The more I listen, the more I see through them. When they apologize to victims they’ve actively disparaged or stolen from, then I will edit my comments. Until then, listen with caution. Things aren’t always as they appear.
