    About Dennis Mansfield

For 34 years, Dennis and his wife, Susan, have proudly called the Treasure Valley their home, a decade plus have been in Garden City. Deeply rooted in the community, Dennis has devoted his life to service, leadership, and helping others find hope and healing.

Dennis’s career has been both diverse and impactful - spanning small business ownership, nonprofit leadership, healthcare administration, authorship, and professional coaching. He founded New Hope Community Health in 2005, inspired by his family’s personal struggle with addiction. Under his leadership as CEO, New Hope provided safe treatment and shelter to thousands of Idahoans seeking recovery. The tragic loss of his oldest son, Nate, in 2009 deepened Dennis’s commitment to lifting up families touched by addiction. His memoir, Beautiful Nate, stands as a testament to love, resilience, and the power of faith.

In 2010, Dennis launched Mansfield Consulting, guiding Idaho businesses and organizations - including Simplot, The Pacific Companies, and Flagship/Insignia Foods - through strategic growth, professional development, and leadership training. Today, as a trusted business coach, he continues to equip leaders and small business owners across the state to thrive.

Dennis’s dedication to service extends beyond business. With experience in legislative advocacy at the city, county, state, and federal levels, he understands how to build consensus, solve problems, and get results. His unique blend of compassion and executive experience makes him exceptionally well-prepared to serve on the Garden City Council.

Family and community remain at the heart of Dennis’s life. Susan is a retired teacher who served West Ada and area schools for over 20 years. She currently volunteers at Garden City Hall as a teaching leader for the Fit and Fall Proof program for seniors. Their son Colin, a West Point graduate, served as a captain in the U.S. Army, while their son-in-law serves in both the military and law enforcement. Dennis and Susan are blessed with six grandchildren - Cole, Amelia, Dax, Eleanor, Rosemary, and Murdoch - who inspire him daily to work toward a stronger, safer, and more vibrant future for Garden City.

An accomplished author of many books, Dennis also finds joy in simple pleasures - riding his bike along the Greenbelt, taking long walks with Susan, and cherishing time with family.

Dennis Mansfield is running for Garden City Council to bring proven leadership, a compassionate heart, and a vision for a community where families, businesses, and neighborhoods can thrive.

  • Robert Gillis- For Eagle City Council
    Oct 6 2025

Eagle is my home, and I want to make sure it remains one of the best places to live in Idaho. With decades of public service and legislative experience, I’m ready to listen, lead, and fight for our community’s future.

    -Robert Gillis

My name is Robert Gillis. I am 54 years old, and I’ve been married to my wife and best friend for sixteen outstanding years. Together, we are raising three incredible children—two currently attending Boise State University and one beginning her journey as a freshman at Eagle High School. Our family is deeply rooted in this community, and we truly love calling Eagle our home.

Service has always been at the heart of who I am. I currently serve as President of Idaho Tough on Crime, where I work alongside state legislators and law enforcement professionals on law-and-order legislation. I am also a Board Member with CrimeStoppers of Idaho and a peer support team member for Courageous Survival, an organization that connects first responders, military veterans, and their families with vital mental health resources.

Before stepping into these roles, I dedicated over twenty-five years to a career in law enforcement, following more than five years in emergency medical services. While my law enforcement career has come to a close, my commitment to service has not.

I remain dedicated to giving back, staying involved, and helping to lead with integrity and heart. Eagle is our home, and I am committed to working to ensure it remains one of the best places in Idaho for families to live, work, and thrive.
