In this episode of Generations at the Table, Megann Marcellino unpacks the Hebrew month of Adar, a time of instruction, preparation, and joy. The Hebrew word for joy, “Simcha,” signifies a joy that "springs forth from covenant relationship"–the gladness experienced when God's people encounter His presence, provision, and promises. Joy is not just a final reward at the end of our destination, but a spiritual posture that carries us into all that God has prepared. We’re called to wait in expectation. To experience fulfillment in our covenant relationship with the Father Who calls us to trust and follow Him.

Our joy in the journey is powerful, and likewise, the enemy will target it to cause anxiety and disruption. We see this in the Purim story, where Haman used fear, intimidation, and despair against the people of Israel. But like Esther, may we not cower in fear and intimidation but choose courage and holy joy in alignment with God’s instruction. We’re called to arise as messengers of hope who speak life into others and declare their divine purpose.

Join Megann as she shares how the tribe of Naphtali connects to Adar, and what it means to be a cheerful messenger– one who rises above dark circumstances, carrying a message of hope, restoration, and opportunity.
