By Nikko Cuda and Jonathan Padilla WRHU’s Jonathan Padilla and Nikko Cuda talked to Muslim Scholars and Long Islanders about the conflict in the Middle East and how much the conflict is affecting Muslims and non-Muslims. [caption id="attachment_212692" align="alignleft" width="300"] Jonathan Padilla, WRHU-Morning Wake Up Call co-host, Hofstra Chaplain Mufti Qari Nazrul Islam, and Nikko Cuda, WRHU-Morning Wake Up Call co-host.[/caption] On the program, they also introduce an Iraqi born college student, Maya, who asked not to be identified by her last name. The young woman was born one year after the U.S invasion of Iraq. She and her family fled to Jordan for a better life away from political conflict. With Jordan facing political and economic disruption as well lead her and her family to ultimately leave the Middle East and immigrate to the United States. [caption id="attachment_212693" align="alignright" width="300"] The arch at The Islamic Center of Long Island.[/caption] One of the show's highlight includes an interview with the Islamic Center of Long Island's Mufti Mohammad Farhan, who said, “our hearts are very heavy looking at the condition of the people all over the world,” speaking on the behalf of Muslims and non-Muslims all over the Middle East.
