Leading From the Inside Out – Part 2: Humility Makes a Home Safe

Most husbands don’t struggle with knowing what’s right.

    They struggle with pride.

In this episode of Heart of a Husband, Paul talks about the role humility plays in spiritual leadership at home. Real leadership isn’t built on always being right — it’s built on creating a safe, honest, grace-filled environment where your wife and kids can thrive.

Through Scripture and real-life reflection, this conversation challenges men to look inward, lay down defensiveness, and lead with repentance instead of pride.

If you’ve ever found yourself justifying your actions, shutting down in hard conversations, or struggling to say “I was wrong,” this episode will help you take a step toward deeper strength and stronger relationships.

    Humility doesn’t weaken your leadership.

    It strengthens it.

    Scripture:
    Philippians 2:3–5
    James 4:6

  • Leading From the Inside Out – Part 1: Becoming a Follower Before You Lead
    Mar 16 2026

Would love to hear from you! ❤️

Many Christian husbands feel the pressure to be the spiritual leader of their home — but very few were ever shown how to become a consistent follower of Jesus first.

In this episode, Paul talks honestly about the foundation of spiritual leadership: abiding in Christ. Before a man can lead his wife and family well, he must learn to walk closely with the Lord himself.

If you’ve ever felt distracted, inconsistent in your time with God, or unsure where to start, this conversation will encourage you to slow down, reconnect with Jesus, and begin leading from the inside out.

    Scripture: John 15:5

This is Part 1 of a three-part series exploring how men can grow into spiritual leadership in their homes by first becoming faithful followers of Christ.

  • Showing Up When You’re Running on Empty
    Feb 23 2026

Would love to hear from you! ❤️

What do you do when you’re still responsible… but running low?

In this episode, we talk about the quiet place many men find themselves — still showing up for work, still leading at home, still loving their family — but feeling empty on the inside.

We’ve been taught that good leaders operate from overflow.
But what if faithfulness sometimes looks like showing up when your tank isn’t full?

Looking at 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” — we unpack the difference between burnout and disengagement, exhaustion and failure, presence and performance.

This conversation is for the husband who feels stretched thin.
For the father who’s tired but still trying.
For the man who hasn’t quit — but feels close.

You don’t have to feel full to be faithful.
You don’t have to feel strong to stay steady.

    Sometimes leadership is simply this:
    Stay. Pray. Show up again.
