  • S1 E91 | Meet Big Brother Laban — “Come on in” (Genesis 24:28-33)
    Mar 26 2026

In this episode, we walk through Genesis 24:28–33 and are introduced to Laban, Rebekah’s brother, as he welcomes Abraham’s servant into his home.

We take a closer look at his response—“Come in, you who are blessed by the Lord”—and consider what it reveals about the moment, the culture of hospitality, and the early glimpse we get of Laban’s character.

This passage invites us to slow down and pay attention—not just to what is said, but to how people respond to God’s work in front of them.

    We’ll explore:

    • The role of hospitality in this part of Genesis

    • What Laban’s actions may suggest about his perspective

    • How to thoughtfully discern both words and actions in light of God’s purposes

Sometimes Scripture teaches us through quiet moments like this—simple interactions that carry deeper meaning when we take the time to notice.
