Healing, Trust & Building Together with Durelle and Samantha Bailey

In this episode, I’m riding the high of just wrapping my first film — producing, co-directing, writing, and starring in an LTTA production — and reflecting on what it feels like to start something from a small seed and watch it grow. From DM’ing a creator I admired, to collaborating for six months, to standing on set with people like Pretty V, DC Young Fly, and Saraya, I talk about trusting your creativity, betting on yourself, and letting joy lead instead of pressure.

Then I sit down with Durelle and Samantha Bailey, a married couple whose story stopped me in my tracks. We unpack childhood trauma, abuse, anxiety, and trust — from Durelle surviving homelessness, family betrayal, and being institutionalized as a teenager, to Samantha growing up in a loving home while carrying silent stress and responsibility. Together, we talk about how two people from completely different backgrounds learned to communicate, heal, trust, and build a Christ-centered marriage rooted in peace instead of chaos. This episode is raw, emotional, funny, and deeply healing — especially if you’re navigating relationships, faith, or learning how to stay in your own lane.

B. Simone is a good interviewer

I love how she is able to make sure her guests feel comfortable and heard. They all seem to easily open up to her in a way that doesn’t feel forced. Though my favorite episodes are usually the solo episodes because she seems to choose topics that I also happen to be dealing with. I love this podcast so much I look forward to these Monday releases!
