Headlines: I Feel the Earth Move

Feeling unsteady, like the earth itself is moving beneath? You are not alone. Despite the fact that the Bible predicts an increase in seismic activity, that’s not today’s topic. We try here on headline day to make a dent in the importance of a few of the biggest topics of the day, the biggest of which, on a global, historical, transformational level, is Ai. I hope we have succeeded in communicating a fraction of what it is, what it is quickly becoming, and why we have to care. The problem with a headline here or there, throwing names and companies out hoping we all remember the players somehow – is that doesn’t really give the big picture of why we should all be a bit gobsmacked by it – and educated. Tech IS undergirding our lives right now, at home and at work. In every corner of the world. Today we look at Matt Shumer’s viral February 9 article entitled, “Something Big is Happening”. And he is not wrong. Remember that big 70’s hit, “I Feel the Earth Move”? That’s also not wrong.
