  • A little taste of Latin jazz with Eliane Correa
    Apr 6 2026

Welcome to the latest episode of Harmonious World, where I interview musicians about how their music helps make the world more harmonious.

I was delighted to be joined by pianist and composer Eliane Correa, who is presenting Las Salseras: A Tribute to Celia Cruz at London’s Jazz Cafe, to celebrate the centenary of the legendary Cuban singer who inspired her. There are still tickets available for this one-off gig on Saturday 25 April.

Thanks to Eliane for allowing me to play extracts from Signo de Fuego alongside our conversation. You can hear more of her music on Bandcamp.

  • Welcome to this trailer for season 24 of Harmonious World
    Apr 1 2026

This year’s Harmonious World episodes are stacking up fast and I’m delighted that there are so many brilliant musicians creating music and talking to me about it.

I was pleased to be recognised as one of the top 15 jazz podcasts by PodRanker.

Season 24 is already getting booked up with real musicians joining me for interviews.

I’m an independent podcaster and getting to gigs, spending time on interviews, editing etc takes a lot of my resources. If you’re able to help with just the price of a cup of tea once a month, please check out my Patreon site: the link is in the show notes and there are lots of goodies available as a thank you.

Please keep listening to Harmonious World and share, rate and review wherever you find me. It really does help.

For now, thank you for listening - especially those of you who I meet in real life or send me messages - and I hope you stay happy, safe and well.

Get in touch to let me know what you think!

  • Discussing ‘This is Nowhere. This is Everywhere’ with Earth-o-Naut
    Mar 30 2026

Welcome to the latest episode of Harmonious World, where I interview musicians about how their music helps make the world more harmonious.

I have wanted to chat with Terry Shaughnessy, AKA Earth-o-Naut, for several months. It was great to have a chat with him, particularly as his album This is Nowhere. This is Everywhere comes out at the end of May.

Earth-o-Naut is also in the running for one of the prized Jazz FM awards. Nick Pitts, Jazz FM and Magic Classical Content Director: “The nominees for 2026 perfectly capture the breadth of today’s thriving jazz landscape. In the last year, jazz as an artform has really broken ground and not only continued to innovate in its own creative universe but has also heavily influenced the mainstream music world with the likes of Ezra Collective and RAYE. It’s brilliant that our esteemed judging panel have recognised their talents alongside some of the new and established jazz artists who are making a massive impact across the community. Good luck to them all!”

Thanks to Terry for allowing me to play extracts from This is Nowhere. This is Everywhere alongside our conversation.

    Feb 23 2026

Welcome to the latest episode of Harmonious World, where I interview musicians about how their music helps make the world more harmonious.

For this episode, I’ve chatted with jazz legend Alyn Shipton. Alyn is a UK journalist and broadcaster, with the regular Jazz Record Requests show on BBC Radio 3. He is also a musician and we discussed his new release with Alyn Shipton’s New Orleans Friends - The Oxford Concert - which is due for release on 6 March 2026.

We also discussed our mutual friends and influences, especially across British jazz, including Adrian Cox, who I interviewed in 2025.

Thanks to Alyn for allowing me to play extracts from The Oxford Concert alongside our conversation.
