HRC49 Freedom to Convert, Practice and Profess

This side-event is convened to raise the voices of those affected by laws and practices that punish individuals for leaving or adopting another religion and restrict their freedom of association.

It will address how policy makers can work to turn the tide and encourage more states to repeal the blasphemy laws, apostasy laws, and relevant legislations in light of the suffering it causes and the resulting violations of basic human rights.
