Across the rainforests of Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, and parts of southern Thailand, stories have circulated for generations about beings known as the Orang Bunian — a name that translates to “the hidden people.”
Described as humanlike yet almost impossibly beautiful, these mysterious inhabitants are said to live in a world that overlaps our own. Most people never see them, but many claim to sense their presence deep within the jungle: footsteps where no one stands, voices calling from the trees, and entire villages that appear for a single night before vanishing without a trace.
In this episode we explore the history and folklore surrounding the Orang Bunian, including the strange rules locals follow when entering deep forest, the stories of travelers who disappeared only to return days later claiming they had been cared for by unseen hosts, and the darker traditions involving missing children, dream encounters, and the belief that some people are invited into the hidden world permanently.
