Gulfport man killed in home invasion / Convicted Rankin County child molester sentenced to life in prison

Two women were forced to defend themselves during a home invasion in Gulfport on Thursday morning. One of the women shot and killed the suspect during the struggle. Plus, a Rankin County Judge has sentenced Gerry Glen Herring to life in prison without the possibility of parole for attempted sexual battery, and an additional 30 years for gratification of lust.
