In which the Doorway Walker cultists launch their assault on Eltuhlich's courthouse, and the ensuing battle, and in which Bruckner vents his wrath upon the monster Decludo.

In which Nima and Bruckner investigate the Walkers in disguise, Bruckner faces Slyst Enerware on the Field of Blood, and in which certain horrifying beings are revealed.

In which Nima takes on a dangerous assignment for Lord General Aleksander and the enigmatic Lord Xavier Heartstone, and meets a local in the process; in which also Tadalac and Bruckner begin to decode the enciphered journal which Nima previously discovered in the troll pit under Mt. Elesborre.
