In this solocast, I reflect on one of the most transformative experiences of my life... my time spent in The Gambia as a Peace Corps Volunteer. During my service, I had no electricity. No running water. My toilet? A pit latrine behind my house. It was a life stripped down to the basics. And it taught me lessons that I still carry with me over a decade later.
In this episode, I share how that experience shaped my perspective on gratitude, and why I believe we all need reminders to appreciate the simple things. Like waking up under a roof, drinking clean water straight from a tap, or flipping a switch and having light. If you want to live a more grounded, grateful, and adventurous life, this one’s for you.
