God is Father

What mental picture comes to mind when you hear "God the Father"? Is it perhaps a picture of someone stern with a big white beard? Maybe its someone strong but distant? Perhaps you even have contrasting pictures of God the Son and God the Father? Our mental images are revealing. But there's also an image of God the Father that comes through persistently in the Scriptures. And surprisingly this image is often very different to the way that many people think about God and fathers.
