I’m recording this episode from Benoit, MS, where I'm leading Benoit Union Church’s annual revival. Benoit Union Church is a community worth getting to know. For 126 years it has been a joint Presbyterian, Methodist, and Baptist congregation and as a friend who came up for the revival said, “It just might be the future of church in rural America.”

As we keep exploring these Big Questions we have of faith and we get from others in our lives, there’s one question that flows most directly from the one I asked last week. If God is good, why does evil exist?

I don’t know if I have a good answer. I might not have a satisfying answer, but I’ve wrestled with it a lot and I’ll share what I think with you today. Let me know what you think.

I don’t know that my kids have asked me this question, but I know I’ve asked it myself and part of my response hit me as I walking the other day. I heard a quote from Steve Jobs and it got my wheels turning on why it is that we believe in God.
