Give Up the Pride

Pride is sneaky. It doesn’t always look like arrogance—it can show up in defensiveness, entitlement, or the refusal to admit we’re wrong. Lent begins with an invitation to humility: to follow Jesus, who “made himself nothing” and chose the downward path of love. Giving up pride isn’t about thinking less of ourselves—it’s about thinking of ourselves less. As we give up the need to always be right, strong, or first, we make room for grace to reshape our hearts.
