  • Buster's First Draft, All-Star Break, and NOTHING ELSE HAPPENED
    Jul 14 2025

This is a rant episode. We do not apologize. Our fanatical rantical hosts go off on the Giants bats as they breakdown the Dodgers series. They also discuss Buster Posey's first two draft picks and look ahead to the All-Star Game.

Our cocktail podcast, The Perfect Sip, is on hiatus but new episodes are in production. (Yeah, it's taking a long time ... life, you know?) If you haven't listened yet, you can catch up here: https://the-perfect-sip.captivate.fm/listen

Speaking of cocktails, today Ben is drinking a Spencer while Matthew is drinking something with Watermelon in it as always. Recipes below.

    Spencer
    • 2 oz dry gin
    • 1 oz apricot brandy (or ⅔ oz brandy and ⅓ oz orange juice)
    • 1 dashes bitters
    • 1 dash of orange juice
    • Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange slice or apricot
    • Notes: Ben got this recipe from a deck of playing cards (nothing but the best for Giant Cocktails!) The original recipe from the deck of playing cards called for a dash of bitters and orange juice, but research suggests using two dashes of bitters and 2/3 oz brandy and 1/3 oz orange juice works better.

    Watermelon Old Fashioned
    • 2 oz Gin
    • 1/2 oz Watermelon Syrup
    • 2 dashes Orange Bitters
    • 1 dash Cherry Bitters (optional)
    • Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir for 30 seconds and strain into a rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with a watermelon chunk.
