Ghosts Can't Talk

When Corey Shaughnessy wakes up to gunfire in the middle of the night, she shoots at the intruder and miraculously survives, only to discover that her husband Ted has been killed. Detectives wonder if the couple’s job as local jewelry shop owners could be a possible motive until the investigation takes a turn that no one saw coming. Andrea Canning reports.

initially thr moms response made it seem like she did it. the daughter in law got off so easy! sad system we live in!

Great Interview

This story is heartbreaking! The story is told well. The wife is a pillar of strength and tough love. What I really liked about listening to this was hearing the journalist firing questions to the son at the end. He sounded so weak and misguided. Perhaps more so because his mom/dad seem like incredibly wonderful, kind, and grounded people.

Adoptees are not expected to be “grateful”

This is awesome and engaging until the interviewer questioned Nick and basically said “they adopted you. You are so ungrateful”. That sentiment that adoptees are expected to be grateful for being saved hurts all adoptees. Babies are the non-complicit members of the adoption triad, they have no choice in any of it. It is something that happens to them, not something they choose. Also, her whole interview of him was weak and accusatory and did nothing to help us understand the complexities of Nick. A real lost opportunity. This small amateurish interviewing makes me dislike the whole episode, and regret I’ve lost the 90 minutes.
