Welcome to a new Geeky Boners episode! For those new to the podcast, we record these episodes every now and again to talk about the latest stuff that has our inner nerds all excited. This week we have our friend Michael Sturm join us to talk about how we navigate the concept of a post truth society. Of course part of what we discuss has to do with AI that stands in for reality but we also consider the concept of an administration that lies so often and so easily, does it matter if we tell the truth to counter it? Does the truth even matter any more? Hard questions get asked and not many get answered! But we do ask Michael our five questions and those definitely DO get answered!

Hey y'all - the world is tough. We know that we can't spend 100% of our time fighting fascism so we are going to let ourselves be geeks for a little bit and talk about what media is scheduled to come out in 2026 that can keep all of us distracted for a little while. Then we'll pick up our signs and get back to it!

This week we are talking about the continuing occupation of Minnesota by ICE agents. We don't know what you've read or seen but we are talking about first hand experiences as we are in the middle of it here. While we recorded this episode a little while ago, we want you all to know it is still happening and our friends and neighbors continue to be targeted. Fuck ICE.

This week we are taking a look at the third installment in the Knives Out film franchise - "Wake Up Dead Man!" Daniel Craig returns as Benoit Blanc to solve the mystery of a murdered priest. There is a whole lot of religion in this movie and that makes it even more on topic for us to talk about on this podcast! How do we feel about the religion? You'll have to listen to find out! But beware! There are spoilers here!

It is the beginning of a new year and one of the traditions many of us follow is the creation of New Year's Resolutions. Are they worth it? Do they help? We talk about some of our choices when it comes to resolutions and how we feel about the whole concept that surrounds them.

If you squint, you can find some positive things that happened in the last year so we squinted and did a year in review that covers some of our favorite media and our favorite podcast episodes. Let's all hope that 2026 is filled with some really good things beyond Dick Van Dyke still being alive at 100 years old (face it - he's probably gonna die).

It's the holiday season and we all know what that means - bell ringers at every supermarket trying to guilt you into giving money to the Salvation Army! Well don't. They are still as homophobic as they always were and they do things like Mission trips to third world countries. We use this episode to remind you that there are a lot of other ways you can give to your fellow humans during this season and really all year round. And remember - your time can be even more important than your money so if you can't afford to give financially but you have some extra time, consider volunteering!
