This week, the panel defends the realm in a rousing game of Shadows Over Camelot! Designed by Bruno Cathala and Serge Laget, Shadows Over Camelot was published in 2005 by Days of Wonder. In 2006, it was nominated for several Golden Geek awards and won a Spiel des Jahres "Fantasy Game" Award.

Shadows Over Camelot is a cooperative board game in which players take on the roles of the Knights of the Round Table, working together to defend Camelot from various threats. Players face challenges such as quests, betrayal, and the looming threat of the Dark Knight; all while trying to maintain their honor and the kingdom’s strength. The game featured a novel (at the time) traitor mechanic, where one player may secretly work against the others, adding tension and intrigue to the cooperative experience.

I'm Very Excited

Full Disclosure: I am the Host and Co-Creator of Games from the Cellar.

That said, I am super excited about this project. We have often found that some of the most enjoyable times when board gaming together is actually the conversation that we have as we’re packing the game back up. Sometimes we have profound thoughts. Sometimes we just say something silly that makes us laugh weeks and years later. But we always talk authentically about our experience. We thought the board gaming podcast space could use more Authentic Commentary.

I’ve hosted and produced podcasts in the past, but never have I been as excited about a show as I am for Games from the Cellar. We truly hope you enjoy the show. We look forward to you joining us in conversation!

-Stephen

If you love games - this is it.

These are life long friends who have played all types of games together. They play a game and talk about it. It’s like you are sitting at the table with them for the post game banter. Cozy and funny.

Great content

This is a bunch of guys just post-gaming their gameplay, focusing on what games do well, and what games do poorly. They clearly have a few titles under the belts and that experience shows up in their commentary. They don't always agree, which is a surprising change from the normal schtick in this subject.

Fair warning -- you'll want to buy, and some of the games they cover are hard to find!
