Proverbs 18:8 (MSG)
Listening to gossip is like eating cheap candy; do you really want junk like that in your belly?
Gossip drains power! God doesn’t anoint anyone to stop gossip, He tells the Church to remove it. Gossipers corrode trust, scatter focus, and dismantle what God is building.
Words are weapons. In the wrong mouths they become shrapnel! Refuse to be a distribution channel for “cheap candy.” If someone keeps feeding you “scoops,” they’re not your friend; they’re recruiting your ears.
Here's how to guard your spirit in the Year of Strange Oil:
Retreat: Step back from repeat offenders. Proximity is permission.
Redirect: “Let’s pray for them instead.” If the story can’t survive prayer, it shouldn’t be told.
Refuse: “I’m not the person to discuss this with.” Close the door kindly but firmly.
Replace: Fill your mouth with intercession, scripture, and solutions. Build what the enemy tries to break.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I separate from gossip and those who spread it. My ears are gates of truth, my mouth builds, heals, and blesses. I speak life, shut down strife, and protect the unity of God’s house, in Jesus’ Name!
