Jacob H. Rooksby is an experienced academic, administrator, and attorney with a proven track record of leadership and innovation in higher education. Appointed Dean of Gonzaga University School of Law in 2018, Rooksby has focused on enhancing the law school’s academic programs, modernizing its facilities, and integrating it more fully into the university and regional communities.

Part one of this two part series features Bob Chapman, the Chairman and former CEO of St. Louis, MO-based Barry-Wehmiller, a $3B global manufacturing business with almost 12,000 team members. Chapman’s experiences were the inspiration behind his 2015 WSJ bestseller Everybody Matters: The Extraordinary Power of Caring for Your People Like Family, co-authored with Raj Sisodia. Bob’s approach to business was featured in a case study by Harvard Business School. In 2013, Bob and his wife Cynthia launched a nonprofit, Chapman Foundation for Caring Communities, to bring Barry-Wehmiller’s groundbreaking “Listen Like a Leader” training to communities. In 2015, the Chapman & Co. Leadership Institute was founded to bring the principles of Truly Human Leadership® to for-profit organizations through culture transformation and leadership training. Bob and his team have been collaborating with the Gonzaga School of Business for three years.

GU economics alum Zenaida Moya joins Andrew and Stephanie to discuss Jesuit education and its impact on her life. Ms. Moya has long been involved in the government of the Caribbean country Belize and served as the first female mayor of Belize City.

Brian Newberry is the CEO of Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. Prior to his CEO appointment, he served as Executive Director of Leadership Spokane, a diverse community of youth and adult leaders seeking to build a stronger community, and was the Commander of the 92nd Air Refueling wing, serving military and humanitarian operations throughout the globe. An adjunct Professor in the MBA program, Brian is a graduate of the US Air Force Academy and recipient of the Bronze Star.
