4th Wing For Fans

This has been so fun to listen to especially since we have to wait for book 3. I have loved going back and listening/reviewing book one with this podcast. If you love the book and don’t have a ton of people around you as obsessed with it 😂 then this is the podcast for you. I found myself saying things like “YES! EXACTLY!” or just loving a detail they pointed out that I totally missed. So fun! Thanks for doing these!

Best Book Club

When reading an awesome book, I immediately want to find others that will enjoy it with me. In depth conversation without belaboring any specific topic. 30 minutes is a good length.

You got me thinking more about Dain and Violet’s friendship and I wonder how close they actually were. They are friends out of necessity and proximity as their parents have been stationed together. They climbed trees and found places to swim together as children, but how much do they really have in common? Dain was probably preparing to join the riders quad while Violet showed more interest in history and folklore and it was assumed she would become a scribe.
To play advocate for Dain, he would have been shocked to see Violet if he had always imagined her as a scribe. In addition to wanting to protect her, I think he was trying to put things right. Especially knowing how strictly he adheres to rules, he probably doesn’t react well to the unexpected. I also wonder if he feels a little threatened by Violet encroaching on what was always his area of excellence.

I also like how she hints that the attraction has been there between them, but never at the same time. I had a friend in college that was exactly that for me, so it seems very true to life. As they each grow into their true self, it seems natural that they would grow further apart.
IMO.
