Welcome back to Fort Worth Weather Daily! Let me tell you, we've got quite the setup brewing out there, and I'm absolutely stoked to break it down for you today.
So here's what's happening across the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. We're sitting pretty right now with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures hanging around 65 degrees Fahrenheit. But don't get too comfortable because Mother Nature's got a little surprise party planned for us starting tomorrow. We're looking at a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms early Monday morning before things clear up and get partly sunny. High temperatures are climbing to about 85 degrees Fahrenheit with winds coming from the south southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour, gusting up to 20.
Now here's where it gets interesting. Tuesday is going to be a wet one, folks. I'd say there's a 60 percent chance of precipitation with showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. You could see rainfall between a tenth and quarter inch, with more in any thunderstorms that develop. I guess you could say the weather's about to get pretty wet my whistle. See what I did there?
Let me hit you with Weather Playbook real quick. We're dealing with what meteorologists call warm cloud processes today. Basically, moisture is being pulled up from the south, and as it rises and cools, it's creating instability in the atmosphere. That's what generates these thunderstorms. The wind shear we're seeing is fantastic for storm organization, which means we could see some organized severe weather potential.
Here's your three-day snapshot. Monday brings us that partly sunny day with a high near 85 Fahrenheit. Tuesday gets wet and wild with highs around 80 Fahrenheit and that 60 percent chance of precipitation. Wednesday morning, we'll see those storms potentially lingering early with mostly sunny skies later and highs around 74 Fahrenheit. By Thursday, things are clearing out beautifully with sunny skies and highs near 67 Fahrenheit.
If you're heading down to Sundance Square or catching a Rangers game, definitely keep an eye on Tuesday because that wet weather system's going to be moving through. Pack that umbrella, friends.
