So let me tell you what we're looking at today. We've got absolutely gorgeous conditions rolling in, and I mean absolutely stunning. Overnight we're sitting pretty with mostly clear skies, lows around fifty-one degrees, and just a light northerly breeze. Come Thursday morning, the sunshine takes over completely with highs climbing to eighty-one degrees. I've got to say, we're really getting a chance to break the ice on this beautiful stretch of weather. Get it? Break the ice? Because it's cold right now and we're warming up? I'll be here all week, folks.
The pattern stays absolutely locked in our favor through the weekend. Friday brings us more sunshine with highs near eighty degrees, then Saturday heats things up to eighty-five with a light southerly breeze. Sunday continues the party with sunny skies and highs around eighty-three degrees. This is the kind of weather that makes you want to head down to the Fort Worth Stockyards or catch a sunset over the Trinity River. Pure Texas spring magic!
Now, I do want to give you the heads up that things change early next week. Monday we're looking at partly sunny skies with a high near sixty-seven, and then Tuesday through Wednesday a moisture system moves in bringing increasing clouds and a chance of showers and thunderstorms. We're talking a twenty percent chance Tuesday, bumping up to forty percent Tuesday night, and fifty percent Wednesday. Nothing severe or crazy, just a typical spring weather system keeping things interesting.
Let's talk about something really cool in our Weather Playbook segment today. Have you ever wondered why cold fronts bring such dramatic wind shifts? It all comes down to density differences. Cold air is denser than warm air, so when a cold front barrels through, that dense cold air actually undercuts the warm air ahead of it like a wedge, forcing all that warm air up. That upward motion creates wind shear and those gusts we often see with frontal passages. It's nature's own weather bulldozer, and I absolutely love it!
Your three-day forecast looks fantastic. Thursday through Saturday we're talking abundant sunshine, temperatures in the low to mid eighties, and light winds. Then Sunday starts the transition with increasing clouds and cooler air moving in by Monday.
