Pittsburgh Penguins Opener: 7th Avenue Freeze-Out 10/03/25

Today’s episode kicks off with a special appearance by one of our favorite baristas at our partner, Espresso a Mano’s Dormont café.

After some armchair Penguins Hockey quarterback’ing by co-hosts - Jeff Taylor and Jordan DeFigio, opining is conducted as to which NHL hockey club various Marvel / DC superheroes and supervillains might support - if they were in fact …real.

The problem of the Penguins’ 2025-2026 likely netminding personnel is bemoaned, partly analyzed, though mostly complained about. Jeff and Jordan talk about a couple upcoming music performances and releases of their own, and the location of Madison Square Garden - the site of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ season opener against the hosting NY Rangers - is clarified in spite of the much-used phrase, ‘On Broadway’ when referring to the Rags’ home rink.

The Unthinkable: Pittsburgh Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby Has Requested A Trade 09/13/25

Sell the team to whomever you want, we don’t care. Put whoever you want in goal on September 27th when the Pens play meaningless hockey against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Yeah, even Marc-André Fleury. For the record, we’ve done the Farewell-to-Flower thing at PPG Paints Arena THREE times already. cough-cough .. money-grab .. cough-cough…

None of that matters anymore, because…

Sidney Crosby, via his longtime agent, Pat Brisson has for all intents and purposes made it known that he would like to be traded; essentially he’s requested to play NHL hockey for a team other than the Penguins. This is a developing story and we, Jordan DeFigio and Jeff Taylor found out about it AS we were recording this episode. So YES, Flyers fans, Devils fans, Rangers fans, etc: This Bud’s For You. And LEAFS fans? Yinz have REALLY earned this one. Drink it up, you know it’s literally all you have.
