In terms of technicality, this story is written very wel, which is why I didn't rate it lower. I think it's biggest problem has to do with character design. I appreciate a complicated protagonist. I've even read stories with unlikable protagonists that were still enjoyable. That said, the way Anne is written, I walk away with a bunch of reasons to not like her, zero reasons to sympathize with her, and at times, she's so incredibly aggravating that I struggle to care about the actual story. If the story was mainly about her life experience and personal growth, maybe I'd feel differently, but the story is about the house, and it doesn't work when the character sharing the story is so unbearable. Granted, the concept is super cool. I'd love to see the author expand upon it, but only after Anne gets an attitude adjustment. Maybe the presenter could interview her again some years later once she's had a chance to grow up, go to therapy, and get over herself. I'd definitely listen to something like that.

I bet this could turn into something great if expanded upon (but Anne needs therapy first).

I get that’s it’s written and read in a different format. But you are never given any kind of explanation. And I don’t think you need to be so clever to see where it was going, only to be dropped because she stopped talking. Frustrating and waste of time. If anyone can give me some kind of closure, I would greatly appreciate it.

What was the ending?

I keep listening because the story is about my home town but the narrator is so annoying. She’s so snotty . She also mispronounced several words like “Gardenia” when the city is called Gardena and oddly described a rose as “variegated.” Not sure I can get through it. Almost seems like a story for preteens .

Hope something happens
