AMC premieres Rise of the 49ers, a limited 4-part docuseries, exploring the dramatic and iconic run of the San Francisco 49ers during the ‘80s and early ’90s. Black Public Media and Maryland Public Television have joined forces to present the inaugural HBCU Week NOW Student Film Festival. Ten films were selected and winners, each received a $5,000 award and a slot in the streaming film festival. Students or recent graduates of Hampton University, Howard University and Spelman College, are participants. Films are currently streaming on the HBCU Week Now YouTube Channel.
