FERNANDO M. GONZÁLEZ nació en 1947 en Jalisco, México. Es investigador titular del Instituto de Investigaciones Sociales de la UNAM, psicoanalista, doctor en Sociología de las Instituciones por la Universidad de París y miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (Conacyt). Es autor de ILUSIÓN Y GRUPALIDAD. EL CLARO OSCURO OBJETO DE LOS GRUPOS (1991), UNA HISTORIA SENCILLA, LA MUERTE ACCIDENTAL DE UN CARDENAL (1996), LA GUERRA DE LAS MEMORIAS. PSICOANÁLISIS, HISTORIA E INTERPRETACIÓN (1998), DE MATAR Y MORIR POR CRISTO REY (2001) y, en Tusquets Editores, MARCIAL MACIEL.
