We’re back, baby! Season 2 kicks off with a bang—and some big news: turns out, your favorite podcast sisters are… half Puerto Rican?! (We didn’t know either. Stay tuned.)
In this episode, Sarah and Amanda unpack feminine rage, the everyday absurdities of parenting, and the deep grief of realizing you were never given the tools to understand your cultural roots. From Super Bowl representation to daycare disasters and bubbling bathroom sinks, we talk about what it means to stay grounded when nothing in the world feels okay—and why making dinner might be the most radical act of resistance some days.
We also dive into:
💥 The origin of Friday the 13th (spoiler: it’s the patriarchy)
🌱 Why regulated nervous systems are the new family tradition
🇵🇷 The immigrant experience, assimilation, and being white… but not really
🛠️ The weight of invisible labor and why women carry the culture

Learning Moment:
Did you know Friday the 13th was once a sacred day celebrating the divine feminine? Long before patriarchy made it “unlucky,” the number 13 was associated with the 13 lunar cycles and menstrual cycles in a year—symbolizing feminine power, intuition, and creation. The demonization of the 13th was part of a broader effort to suppress goddess worship and matriarchal traditions.
So… maybe the bad luck is just the patriarchy getting nervous.
