Can Local Farming Feed Our World or Is Big Ag The Future? Farms, food production, distribution and consumption are morphing rapidly in our fast paced – ever changing world. In this episode, we ask some serious questions about a topic that impacts every single person on Earth - FOOD! Join Host Jill The Food Tree Guide; Holistic Family Nutrition with Jill Troderman, N.C. and Guest Michael Olson of The Food Chain Radio Ep. 10 6/4/25 to explore why: The US has lost 160,000 farmers and ranchers between 2017 and 2024 according to USDA. Vegetable production is down 6.3%, according to USDA. Fruit production is down nearly 36% in 2024 from 2003 according to USDA. Food nutrient density, soil quality, and human health are all in a scary decline. What, why and how is this all happening? And what are farmers and growers are doing about it. The perfect person to talk to about this pressing issue is Michael Olson. Michael Olson is the host of The Food Chain, a syndicated news talk radio program and podcast broadcasting weekly on radio stations and streaming on demand on the internet. • Talking Raw, Fermented and Farmers Market Foods with Yeyen Gunawan and Host Jill Troderman Ep 9 5/29/25
    May 29 2025

Are eating raw, probiotic rich foods really that amazing for dealing with common health problems?

Absolutely says my guest Yeyen Gunawan, creator of La Vie Live Probiotic Drinks.

Our conversation is inspiring as Yeyen shares her health and business journey and how you can get a creative cooking high by shopping at Farmer's Markets. Farmers Markets connect you to local, organic, whole foods that are in season and are winning places to connect farmers and food producers to the community.

It's all about connection. To each other. And our innate wisdom on knowing how to heal and nourish ourselves. Yeyen shares some tasty sounding dishes, a Raw Cherry Tort and an Asparagus, Potato, and Coconut Milk Bisque.

I'll def be trying them out this weekend! Cherry's are in season!

Yeyen’s mission is to help others discover the life-changing benefits of nourishing, raw foods, and to inspire a community of health-conscious, vibrant individuals.

Check her and La Vie out at Bay Area markets and shops. https://www.drinklavie.com/ https://www.instagram.com/drinklavie/

  • Creating Healthy Dependency in the 21st Century Guest Laurie Orso, Host Jill Troderman 5/21/25 Ep. 8
    May 22 2025

Laurie Orso, Montessori Teacher and I, deep dive into what interconnectedness and healthy dependency looks like in today's landscape. When so many folks are scattered and busy, we've become more independent. We tend to isolate ourselves and not depend on each other but our animal nature calls on us to co-create, leading to making healthy choices.

Technology can interfere with our ability to pay attention to each other so how do we consciously nurture healthy dependency from the start with our children, and partners?

We groove on how we need each other, yes, us humans, in order to thrive and survive and how it is vitally important that we in create sacred, healthy connections with ourselves, our family and friends and community.

We talk about strategies to use to balance and sustain relationships through community routines, like meal time and getting kids involved in cooking, music and sound, and their positive impact on the healing of our overstressed modern nervous systems.

Enjoy the show! Please like and subscribe and we'll see you next time! XO Jill
