    DESCRIPTION:

    Exodus 16:1-18


    SUMMARY:

    When the Israelites experience hunger in the wilderness, they long for their days of enslavement and complain against Moses and Aaron. Moses prays to God, and God answers Moses’ prayer by giving the Israelites manna and quail to eat.


    THE POINT:

    God sends blessings even when people complain and grumble.

  • Moses Says, “Who Me?”

    DESCRIPTION:

    Exodus 2:23-25; 3:10-15; 4:10-17


    SUMMARY:

    God remembers the covenant with the Israelites and sends Moses to lead the people out of enslavement in Egypt. Moses is reluctant, but God assures him that God will be with him and give him words to speak.


    THE POINT:

    God blesses reluctant messengers and uses them to bless others.

    SUMMARY:

    With the help of his mother Rebekah, Jacob steals his brother Esau’s blessing. Despite the deception, God visits Jacob in a dream and promises to bless him.

    God can turn even deceptions into occasions to provide blessings.

  • God Asked Abraham To WHAT?!?

    Genesis 21:2-3, 22:1-14


    SUMMARY:

    God tests Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his son, Isaac. Abraham does not refuse. God sees Abraham’s faith, and God provides the offering in place of Isaac.

    God can provide even in impossible situations.

    SUMMARY:

    Three women go to the tomb and discover that the tomb is empty. Two men appeared and told them that Jesus had risen! The women return to the rest of the disciples and tell them the good news.


    THE POINT:

    Women proclaim the news that Jesus has risen from the dead.

    Outside of Jerusalem, Jesus sends his disciples ahead of him, telling them they will find a colt and to bring it back. Jesus rides the cold into the city while people praise God for all of the great things they have seen.

    Jesus is welcomed as king.

    As Jesus passes through Jericho on his way to Jerusalem, he heals a man who was blind and eats with Zacchaeus, a tax collector who repents from his sins.

    Jesus brings salvation to outsiders who receive him with faith and joy.
