To Serve God and Government (Matt 22:15-23) | Rev. Herman Moldez, May 4, 2025

Jesus wisely avoided the trap set by the Herodians who collaborated with Rome and the Pharisees who zealously advocated strict obedience to God's laws. Jesus recognized the place of human government within the Kingdom of God. What does this mean in practice especially in the coming election?

What does it mean to be a Christian when human government is corrupt and abusive of its power?

How do we view human government within the Kingdom of God?

    1. Separation from Government
    2. Set apart for God
    3. Sent to Serve the Government

    Conclusion:

How will you serve the interest of God on May 12, 2025 Election?

Christians In The World (Sermon Series)

Some Christians stay out of the world by completely regarding it as Satan's territory. Others have become too secular that they live like others. Jesus says we are sent into the world for a purpose.

How do we live between two worlds? A proper biblical perspective is necessary to remain faithful to God in a world that upholds different practices and perspective, vision and values?

In the month of May 2025 we will reflect the Christians' roles and responsibilities in the world as citizens, marketplace workers, and as witnesses of the Kingdom of God.

    1. The Lamb’s Worthy Sacrifice vv.6-7
    2. The Lamb’s Worthy Praise v.8
    3. The Lamb’s Worthy Reign v.9-10

Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. He gave His life as the perfect sacrifice to save us, and He is the perfect priest who can cleanse us from all our sins. He is worthy to receive our praise. He is worthy to rule in our lives.

How does Jesus’ sacrifice guide the way you live each day in alignment with His sovereign will?

Living in the Power of The Cross (Sermon Series)

The Cross is the iconic symbol of Christianity. It is not a mere sign of the Christian faith but the power of God to save, sanctify, and serve Him as we are sent into the world. We advance the Kingdom through the way of the cross. At the end, all will bow down before the Lamb, seated on the throne, to worship Jesus Christ.

As we remember and reflect on Christ's death and resurrection, let us renew our lives by meditating on the messages about the power of Christ's Cross for our daily lives.

May Lent become a season of recommitment to take up our cross, not as victims bur victors with the crown of resurrection.

May we find the power of the Cross at work in our lives to experience freedom from hate to heal, to go through suffering to grow as saints in Christ, and find hope in the Lamb who rules the world.

That I May Know Christ (Phil 3:10-11), April 20, 2025

    - Rev. Herman Moldez

Christians remember Christ’s passion, death and resurrection. This Easter Sunday we celebrate Christ’s resurrection from the dead. To know Christ is to experience his risen life to overcome the forces of death. We don’t just look forward to the resurrection of the dead.

We live the risen life of Jesus now in our mortal bodies.

    1. Empty the Pursuit of Self’s Gain
    2. Embrace the Pain of Life’s Suffering
    3. Experience the Power of Christ’s Resurrection

May knowing Christ become our greatest desire to live the resurrection life.

    GROWING DEEP IN CHRIST

    (Sermon Series)

To be a Christian is to have a living relationship with Christ. There are many images to describe this eternal relationship of life union with Christ. Like branches, we must remain in Christ (Jn 15). Like trees we must grow deep roots in Christ.

Grow to Thrive (Ps 1:1-6), March 30, 2025

    - Ptr. Rein Arlegui

The Christian life is like a tree by the streams of water. Thriving Christians are fresh, fruitful, and flourishing.

    3. Dwell in God’s Righteousness vv.4-6

The Christian life is like a tree growing by the streams of water. Thriving Christians are fresh, fruitful, and flourishing.

Living Deeper in a Different World (Rom 12:1-2), March 23, 2025

    - Ptr. Herman Moldez

Living in the world of relativism and pluralism can sway us away from the faith. Deep transformation happens by devotion to God, detachment from the world, and discernment of the will of God

We live in a different world where heaven and earth meet to experience the Kingdom of God in all areas of life.

Our life grows deeper in God with these radical choices to live differently.

    1. Dedicate Your Bodies for Worship
    2. Dissent From the Pattern of this World
    3. Discern to Live Within God's Will

In what ways your lifestyle can become counter-cultural to show a new world where heaven and earth embrace?

Growing in Gratitude (Ps 34:1-8), March 16, 2025

    Rev. Harold Peñacerrada

    GOD’s Three-fold Call

    1. A CALL TO PRAISE AND WORSHIP GOD
    2. A CALL TO TRUST GOD FOR COMFORT AND DELIVERANCE
    3. A CALL TO EXPERIENCE MORE OF GOD’S GOODNESS

This growth in gratitude is only possible when we are deeply rooted in Christ, and this signifies a deep level of intimacy between Him and ourselves, especially during tough times. When we shift our perspective to focus on God, faith will rise in our hearts, and we will live knowing the truth that we serve a big God who can do big things.

May we always trust that God will bring Faith Baptist Church to higher heights and bless us with many more anniversary celebrations to come.

Happy 68th Founding Anniversary to everyone!
