Welcome to Fairy Gaymothers Sorta! Your hosts, Kat and Hunter, walk you through what exactly it means to be a Fairy Gaymother and why they're only "Sorta" there. As the "inventors" of this term and the singular authority on who/what meets the criteria, they're making it all up!

Each episode we'll highlight a Fairy Gaymother in the wild and explore a new piece of the self-imposed curriculum in our training. We're learning to be our best, gayest, most off-putting selves and we're here to pass our knowledge and failings onto you! So strap in!

  • Know Thy Unknowns: Fairy Gaymothers Sorta
    Apr 3 2026

In the season finale of Fairy Gaymothers Sorta, Kat and Hunter complete their exam in the last instalment of their extremely rigorous (and completely self-appointed) curriculum of semester one: Know Thy Unknown. This week, they turn their attention to the things that simply refuse to make sense, and perhaps were never meant to.

First on the agenda, Kat and Hunter report back with their recurring fieldwork segment: The Crash, Bit, Bang. In a special twist, the girls take turns crashing out over the many things in this world they just don’t understand. Some are sweeping, existential concepts, others are smaller, more niche curiosities… and a few are things they’ve decided they’re actually better off not knowing at all.

Wrapping up their first semester at Fairy Gaymother Academy, Kat and Hunter reflect on everything they’ve learned (academically, spiritually, and emotionally, give or take), revisit standout moments, and take stock of how their worldview has shifted. They also offer a glimpse into what’s ahead for semester two, including new lessons, evolving perspectives, and, of course, continued unqualified guidance.

  • Know Thy Sparkle: Fairy Gaymothers Sorta
    Mar 20 2026

In this episode of Fairy Gaymothers Sorta, Kat and Hunter enrol in another instalment of their extremely rigorous (and completely self-appointed) curriculum: Know Thy Sparkle. This week, they take a look at what makes us shine, and ask why it feels like mayhaps we’ve collectively dimmed the lights?

First on the agenda, Kat and Hunter report back with their recurring fieldwork segment: The Crash, Bit, Bang. Hunter absolutely loses it over the widespread theft of her texting lingo (and therefore, her rizz), while Kat steps into a new era, experimenting with styles that have her feeling fly, fresh, and frankly unstoppable. #styleicon

From there, we move into the main lecture: sparkle (or lack thereof). Kat and Hunter unpack the rise of the “lobotomized chic” trend and why Gen Z seems slightly obsessed with numbness. Is it aesthetic or coping? What does it say about our collective desire to take the edge off? The girls investigate the cultural shift toward detachment, emotional minimalism, and what it means to feel nothing, but fashionably.

  • Know Thy Hobbies: Fairy Gaymothers Sorta
    Mar 13 2026

In this episode of Fairy Gaymothers Sorta, Kat and Hunter enrol in another instalment of their extremely rigorous (and completely self-appointed) curriculum: Know Thy Hobbies. Yes girls and gays, we’re getting introspective… but like, fun about it. This week’s syllabus tackles the age-old question plaguing our generation: do we actually have hobbies, or are we just scrolling with conviction?

First on the agenda, Kat and Hunter report back with their recurring fieldwork segments: The Hinge Cringe and Crash / Bit / Bang. Hunter attempts to defend her matchmaking abilities (the evidence scarce), while Kat explains her deeply held philosophy of joy by proxy, specifically through the time-honoured practice of watching SMOSH videos like they’re prestige television. From there, we enter the main lecture: hobbies. Hunter and Kat unpack their own personal hobbies, the mysterious state of Gen Z hobbies as a whole, and why so many of us feel like we’re supposed to have enriching personal interests but instead just have… screen time reports. Does scrolling count as a hobby? Are we doomed to live hobbyless lives? It’s up to us to investigate.

Plus, a surprisingly earnest exploration of something radical in the year of our lord 2026: being alone. What happens when you actually spend time with yourself? Is solitude scary, powerful, healing, or all three? Kat and Hunter discuss the quiet art of getting to know yourself, and why it might be the most important hobby of all. It’s hobbies. It’s existential. It’s extremely unserious self-improvement. 🧚‍♀️📓
