This 20-minute guided meditation is an adaptation of the PACE protocol developed by Imperial College London, originally used to prepare research participants for psilocybin sessions. Prepare, Accept, Connect, Embody.
Familiarity with extraordinary states of consciousness is a core clinical competency for psilocybin facilitators. This practice is designed for student facilitators and anyone curious about the work. It offers a structured way to build that familiarity without medicine, using somatic awareness and an ocean visualization to open communication between the conscious and unconscious mind.
The focus is on noticing and feeling rather than analyzing. Have a journal, eyeshades if you have them, and water nearby before you begin.
🔬 PACE PROTOCOLDeveloped by Imperial College London as a preparation tool for psilocybin research participants. This adaptation is less directive than the original and designed specifically for facilitators in training.
🧠 CORE COMPETENCYExperience with extraordinary states of consciousness is one of the foundational skills for psilocybin facilitators. This practice is a clinical entry point into that territory.
