Episode 73 - Understanding Conscientious Business Leadership and Connecting with Your Ideal Target Audience Trailer 2

  • Resumen

  • In this episode we're talking about our ideal target audience, the conscientious business owner. Well, what does that actually mean? Surely all business owners are conscientious or they perhaps ought to be. Well, to get into that, perhaps we need to understand the importance of why it is that we share that with you as a watcher, listener on the podcast. So many people, when it comes to marketing, get their marketing particularly wrong. They'll start talking about their audience and then when I ask them about the audience of who it is that their target audience, who it is that they're selling to, they'll tell me, well, anyone who, in all of my experience, having spoken in countries across the world, 34 countries and counting, to about 400,000 other business owners, I've met some really interesting people from all over the globe with some quite interesting names. Met two people called Jesus. I've met a guy called PI, I've met various people called Goliath and Spiros. I've never met anybody called anybody. And yet the moment that you say anyone who nobody springs to mind, I can't think of a single person who might want what it is that you're selling when you use the phrase anyone who lost you straight away.

    Here are 3 key takeaways:

    • Identify Your Ideal Audience: Instead of targeting "anyone who," have a defined key audience. This helps craft messages that resonate and drive growth.

    • Lead With Purpose: Business isn't just about profit. Embrace the B Corp movement and values like corporate social responsibility and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) to create meaningful change.

    • Build a Legacy: Focus on growing a business that leaves a lasting impact. Invest in people, create careers, and challenge the status quo to contribute positively to the community.

What does it mean to be a conscientious business leader? Jay breaks it down for us:

    1. Beyond Profit: These leaders are not merely focused on profit margins. They measure success by their positive impact on the community, the environment, and the broader world. It's about doing business for good.

    2. Corporate Social Responsibility: Many adopt practices akin to the B Corp movement or ESG agendas, ensuring their business decisions reflect ethical and sustainable choices. It’s not just about profits; it’s about creating a legacy of good.

    3. Building Legacies, Not Just Businesses: They focus on shaping their industry and challenging the status quo, aiming to leave their field, community, and the world better than they found it.

    4. Internal Growth: These leaders see their team as more than employees; they are valued as individuals with personal aspirations and supported to grow along with the business.

We believe in the power of community and collective growth. If you resonate with this mindset and are eager to contribute to positive change, we invite you to join our growing community of like-minded business leaders. Consider this your call to action—become part of a movement that prioritizes ethical growth and societal impact.
