Today we continue our series, sponsored by the University of Dallas: "A Knight for Truth," examining the life and thought of Dietrich von Hildebrand. In this episode, Lily explores Hildebrand’s flight from Nazi Germany in 1933 and his time in Vienna, where he founded an anti-Nazi magazine with the support of Austrian Chancellor Engelbert Dollfuss, who was assassinated by the Nazis in 1934. Hildebrand continued his anti-Nazi activities and faced increasing persecution, until he was forced to flee Austria in 1938 as the Nazis invaded. Lily tells how Hildebrand's faith and moral courage sustained him, and how he wrote his magnum opus, Transformation in Christ, during this period. This series is sponsored by The University of Dallas. The University of Dallas is among an exclusive list of Catholic universities recommended by the Cardinal Newman Society.
