In January 1959 a group of 9 experienced hikers started a 16-day expedition to cover 305 km across the North Ural Mountains of Otorten. A heavy snowstorm & low visibility forced them to divert from their track and they ended up at the top of a mountain Kholat Syakhl - a mountain that local indigenous people, refer to as "Dead Mountain". Days later, the investigating team found the dead bodies of these 9 hikers. Curiously, the group's belongings, including their shoes within the tent. Their tent was cut in half from the inside. Outside the tent, there were nine sets of footprints made by people who were wearing only socks, a single shoe, or were barefoot. While six of them had died from hypothermia, the other three had been killed by physical trauma. The doctor examining the bodies described the force needed to cause the fractures as being comparable to a car crash. One of the female hikers was missing her eyes, tongue, part of her lips, part of her face, and a fragment of her skull bone. The condition of the bodies left the authorities baffled and to this day several theories are floating around claiming this to be a result of paranormal activity. The investigation has been closed and reopened several times but nobody could conclude the mystery of Dyaltov Pass.©2022 ©2022 T.V. TODAY NETWORK LIMITED (P) 2022 T.V.
