Hey, all my faithful Tea and Cornbread listeners. Here’s another episode with Shawn and I as we discuss women’s health. We continue our journey on checking in with yourself, making sure we’re taking time to smell the roses and enjoy the outside , we highlight Rebecca Lee Crumpler a true inspiration on following her dreams becoming the first African-American doctor. Being inspired by the aunt that raised her. One of Rebecca‘s passions was to ensure treatment was available for women and children. Ensuring they received medical treatment. Oh, and did I mention this was all during the 1800s when it was probably one of the hardest times for not only a woman, but a woman of color to excel in a dream and a passion that she loved. What a warrior. We also discuss upcoming events award ceremonies, prom giveaways, a new program starting at Berkeley Rec for the youth doing Double Dutch and outside activities. We hope you enjoy the episode.
